Sunnyvale ISD 2022 VATRE Communications Plan
Sunnyvale ISD won its 2022 VATRE during a tenuous time period in Texas public school elections. Statewide, there were 36 VATREs during the November 2022 election cycle. 17 of those 36 VATRE’s passed. SISD had the second-highest passing rate in all of Northeast Texas.
My work for the 2022 VATRE earned recognition, including the National School Public Relations Association's Golden Achievement Award and a Platinum Award Finalist honor from the Texas School Public Relations Association.
Crisis Communications
Crisis communication is where preparation meets pressure. It requires clear thinking, fast decisions, and unwavering compassion for the people at the center of the story, whether that's a grieving community, a concerned parent, or a district navigating public scrutiny. I've led crisis response in both school district and nonprofit settings, and I've learned that how you communicate in the hardest moments often defines the trust you carry into everything that follows.
